Brooklyn Basement Has Standing Water Damage
A Brooklyn property owner called SERVPRO to get rid of the water damage in a basement. The techs found standing water on top of area rugs in the room. They extracted the water to make the rugs safer to handle so they can get removed and dried off-site. The techs test the fibers to determine the type of cleaning and drying that will avoid issues such as bleeding dyes and shrinkage. Once the carpets got removed, the techs found laminate flooring underneath and through the use of their moisture detection equipment found no seepage under the floor but it did run behind the baseboards which required removal for extraction and drying.
